Edinburgh West MP Christine Jardine has written to the Scottish Government asking for clarity on the provision of the flu jab after being inundated with constituents being asked to travel the length and breadth of the Lothians.
Ms Jardine called for the Scottish Government to clarify the reasons for centralising provision away from GP surgeries and to make it easier for residents to rearrange appointments.
"The rollout of this year’s flu jab has been complete chaos. Many of my elderly constituents have been asked to travel to venues far away from their communities and often with poor public transport links.
“When residents have tried to rearrange their appointments they have struggled to get through and have been told that there are very few alternative appointments.
“The flu jag is a crucial to protecting so many people in our communities. The SNP Government should sort this mess out. “
