Christine Jardine, MP for Edinburgh West, has submitted a motion to Parliament to congratulate Drumbrae Leisure Centre on winning the best regional centre honour at this year’s ‘ukactive’ awards.
The awards were held recently in Manchester, and included entries from over 50 different organisations from both inside and outside the leisure industry.
Ms Jardine has officially recognised the achievement in parliament, congratulating staff on their hard work and for winning in what was an exceptionally competitive field.
The Lib Dem MP commented:
“This award really shows how much the community enjoys using the wonderful Drum Brae leisure centre, as well as how much the staff must love working there.
“Everyone at the centre must be delighted, as making the final shortlist is a highly competitive process, involving a nomination form, a customer survey and a mystery visit.
“It’s incredibly important that both adults and children have access to decent leisure facilities in their communities, and I hope that Drumbrae has another excellent year as it defends its title in the 2020 ukactive awards”
