Edinburgh West MP Christine Jardine has congratulated Edinburgh Airport on having the busiest ever year for a Scottish Airport in 2018.
More than 14 million passengers passed through the Airport last year.
The Lib Dem MP, whose constituency incudes the airport, praised Airport staff and management who have worked hard to secure new routes and keep the airport running efficiently.
The Airport has secured new routes to China, the USA and the UAE in the last year, ensuring Edinburgh’s continued access to important markets.
Ms Jardine said: “Edinburgh is doing incredibly well in comparison to other Scottish airports and, with the current climate of uncertainty, its terrific to see the airport going from strength to strength.
“It is an incredibly important part of our transport infrastructure, with direct links that give Edinburgh businesses access to markets and brings tourists to our incredible city.”
“Congratulations to the team at Edinburgh Airport. I hope the year ahead is just as successful.”
