Edinburgh West's new Scottish Liberal Democrat MP is pressing RBS for an explanation of 443 job losses announced by the Gogar-based bank this morning.
The MP - who also aims to raise the matter in the House of Commons today - has written to the bank's chief executive asking where the jobs will be cut and what the implications might be for remaining or redeployed staff.
Ms Jardine said:
"RBS is a major employer, not just in Edinburgh West but throughout Scotland and these changes could have serious implications both for their customers and local businesses.
"I've asked for an early meeting with the chief executive to clarify these issues and whether what we are seeing is in any way related to the uncertainty surrounding Brexit."
