Edinburgh West MP Christine Jardine has successfully secured a one-to-one meeting next month with DWP Secretary, Amber Rudd.
Ms Jardine was named as Lib Dem spokesperson for work and pensions at the beginning of February, and has said she will utilise her position to bring her constituents’ experiences to the national stage.
Ms Jardine commented:
“I’m very grateful to the Secretary of State for agreeing to meet.
“Every week I help countless constituents who are experiencing stress and hardship as a direct result of her government’s work and pensions policies, so I’m certainly not going to shy away from laying these issues bare when we meet.
“Whether it’s to families who are being unfairly penalised by the appalling mismanagement of universal credit, or the WASPI women who have had their retirement plans ruined, this DWP has a lot to answer for.”
