Christine Jardine has welcomed the Lib Dem pledge to invest £5 billion in flood prevention.
Following the heartbreaking images of flooding in South Yorkshire the party has pledged funds to ensure the scenes are not repeated.
Christine said: "Flash flooding in the summer damaged property, destroyed treasured posessions and memories of people in Edinburgh West.
"The scenes of flooding in Yorkshire are heartbreaking and don't begin to show the destress by those who have suffered damage to their homes.
"The flood prevention fund will benefit communities across the UK at risk of flooding in the future, addressing years of successive Governments ignoring the issue."
Christine's office flooded during the Edinburgh Flash-Flooding in June.
