Further Covid Restrictions over Christmas

I thought it might be useful to provide update on the changes in the Coronavirus restrictions for us here in Edinburgh.

Drum Brae/Gyle Roadworks

I've been contacted by a number of local residents who are concerned about the impact that the Cityfibre roadworks are having in South Gyle, Broomhouse Road and Glasgow Road. I know this work and temporary traffic lights is causing a great deal of inconvenience, with work ongoing until December 2020.

MP Calls For Furlough Extension

Edinburgh West MP Christine Jardine is demanding the UK Government extend furlough to June of 2021, and to include those excluded from any support.

 

The UK Government is planning to withdraw the Job Retention Scheme which offers 80% salary to those on furlough, replacing it with a lower level.
